Contributor Policy
Who Contributes to Our Content?
At MyRehab Helper, we believe that high-quality content is built on a foundation of expertise, authenticity, and compassion. To achieve this, we welcome contributions from a wide range of voices, each bringing valuable perspectives to the conversation about addiction, treatment, and recovery.
-
Clinical Experts
Our clinical contributors include addiction counselors registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or equivalent professional bodies. We also work with psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare professionals who have extensive experience in mental health and substance use recovery. Their expertise ensures that our content reflects current best practices and provides reliable, evidence-based guidance. -
Recovery Advocates and Peer Contributors
In addition to professional voices, we believe that lived experience is equally important. Individuals who are in long-term recovery, family members who have supported loved ones through treatment, and people who have first-hand knowledge of addiction all play a critical role in shaping our content. Their stories and insights bring authenticity, empathy, and hope to readers navigating their own recovery journeys. -
Health Writers and Editors
We also rely on experienced health and medical writers who specialize in creating accessible, research-based content. Our editorial team is trained in evidence-based writing, inclusive language, and fact-checking, ensuring that every piece meets the highest standards of accuracy and clarity. -
AI-Assisted Drafting
In some cases, content may begin with drafts produced by AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT. However, every article undergoes careful human editing, clinical review when needed, and final approval by a qualified editor before publication. This process ensures that all content maintains accuracy, professionalism, and empathy.
Contributor Requirements
We maintain strict requirements for all contributors. Clinical experts must hold valid credentials and maintain professional registration where applicable. Personal contributors, including individuals in recovery or family members, must provide informed consent for the use of their stories or quotes. All writers and editors are expected to comply fully with our Editorial Policy and Publishing Principles.
Quality Control and Oversight
Each piece of content published by MyRehab Helper follows a structured process designed to safeguard accuracy and quality. This includes:
-
Clinical review of all content containing medical or therapeutic guidance.
-
Comprehensive editing and fact-checking.
-
Scheduled periodic reviews to ensure that information remains up to date over time.
Our Values
We believe that recovery content should balance clinical expertise with empathy and respect. For this reason, we prioritize empathy over judgment, accuracy over speed, and privacy over sensationalism. By combining professional insight with real-world experiences, we aim to create resources that genuinely support individuals and families affected by addiction.
